How To Have A Great Life #3 January 21, 2007 AM How God Heals Your Hurts 1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; 2To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. (Isaiah 61:1-3) God heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. (Psalm 147:3 - NLT)
1. I Must Reveal My Hurt I cry aloud with my voice to the LORD; I make supplication with my voice to the LORD. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. (Psalm 142:1-2) “REVEALING THE FEELING IS THE BEGINNING OF HEALING.”
2. I Must Release Those Who Hurt Me To proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD And the day of vengeance of our God. (Isaiah 61:1-2) Never pay back evil for evil to anyone … If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "vengeance is mine, i will repay" (Rom. 12:17-19)
3. I Must Replace The Lies With Truth The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted … Giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting (Isaiah 61:1,3) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
4. I Must Refocus On The Future To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD … Giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. (Isaiah 61:2-3) I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:13-14)
