SBC Missions Our missions ministries are organized around the ACTS 1:8 strategy: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.” Jerusalem We believe that our Jerusalem consists of North Georgia, Hamilton County, portions of East Tennessee, and all of Chattanooga. We partner with numerous organizations in Chattanooga and Hamilton County to take the Gospel to all those who need to hear of the love of Jesus Christ. Some examples of our Jerusalem ministries are: the evangelistic outreach during the week of Riverbend; our partnership with Widow’s Harvest ministries. We also have numerous individuals volunteering with AAA Women’s Services, Room in the Inn, Chattanooga Rescue Mission, Chattanooga Resource Foundation, Bethany Christian Services, Bethel Bible Village, Channels of Love Ministry, and Prison & Prevention Ministries.
Tyner Partnership: In November of 2005, senior pastor Tony Walliser preached a sermon series Church or Country Club? This series addressed an area of growth for our church--reaching out more than we reach in. Out of this revelation came a partnership with a local school--Tyner Middle. Since the beginning of this partnership, we have attempted to use our resources (finances, time, manpower, etc.) to encourage and assist the teachers, students, and administration at Tyner Middle. Church members and Academy students have been involved with tutoring, cleaning, painting, and other outreach projects. There are still many ways to get involved in this ministry! To get involved with any of these projects, please fill out a printed form or submit an online form for your desired project (see below). Bring completed forms to Chuck Tanner in the church office.
